How do you install a GeForce 8400 Gs Video PCI Express card into a Emachine?
I just got a brand new Video card for my desktop. My desktop is a Emachine T3642. The video card is a Nvidia GeForce 8400 GS PCI Express. I installed it (thought it was weird there were no cables) I then turned the computer on and first noticed that my audio is disabled and it has message that says "No audio Output device is installed" I then just put the cd in and followed directions. I selected 32-bit Vista and did its thing and restarted my computer. But still no audio and it still says it is the old video card that came with the computer. I even went to bios and couldnt disable my on-board video BECAUSE it wasnt a option. PLEASE HELP ME.Thanks!
When you inserted a new video card, you have to disconnect your monitor cable and connect it to your new card.
Then you can start your computer and install drivers for your video card.
Make sure you disconnect power when you replace your video card.
