Intel(R) Graphics Media Accelerator X3100 or 128MB NVIDIA GeForce 8400M GS?
I am ready to buy my HP dv6500t but cant decide between the intel and the nvidia. I dont do much gaming. My main concern is the effect of battery life. I was also wondering if there would be a difference when watching dvds and things like youtube. also since the intel is integrated, will it affect my multitasking since it shares ram? Which one should i go with?
the 8400m nvidia card actually speeds up the computer on vista. It's not a real gaming video card (eventhough they say so on their website). It's more designed for some simple gaming graphics, video and applications that require some graphic power like the vista OS. I don't think it will affect your battery. If you care a lot about the battery go for a 9 cell one (I'm guessing you have the 6 cell battery and not the 4 cell), but expect a slightly heavier laptop.
