Is this graphics card update a decent one?
this is the one i have at the moment XFX GeForce 8600 GT Graphics adapter - 512 MB - DDR2 SDRAM
this is the one i want PNY GeForce 9600GT XLR8 OC 512MB PCI-E Graphics Card

both these cards are pretty decent with the PNY GeForce 9600GT being the best of the two allthough the XFX GeForce 8600 GT isnt that bad and will happily run both windows vista,s and windows 7 graphic user interfaces
however graphic cards have dropped in price lately and you should be able to get a gts250 or radeon HD4850 for under £70 which is around the same price as the PNY GeForce 9600GT
for example theres the "
Novatech GeForce GTS 250 SLI 512MB " which is only £75 from http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/Components/Graphics-Nvidia/NvidiaGTS250Series/Novatech/GTS250512MB.html...and this is significantly faster than the 9600gt and will happily run all of todays games at reasonable resolution and detail
and then theres the "
Novatech ATI Radeon HD4850 512MB "( http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/Components/Graphics-ATI/ATIHD4850Series/Novatech/4850.html ) which is well known as the best sub £100 gaming card and found in alot of manufacturer built pc,s...and this is due to its performance that has no problem running games on 22" monitors at high detail
however for the latest technology check out the "
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 4730 512MB " ( http://www.novatech.co.uk/novatech/prods/Components/Graphics-ATI/ATIHD4770Series/Sapphire/SAP-4730.html )...this may only support a 128bit memory interface however its made up by a 750mhz core clock and 512mb of gddr5 memory running at 3600mhz which are some amazing specs and will ensure sky high frame rates in todays games
direct x 11 is released this month as part of windows 7 however dont get too exited about this,at this moment theres just one game that supports the direct x11 api( battleforge ) so until theres at least 20 games supporting direct x 11 i wouldnt worry
