Why doesn't my computer recognize my VGA card?
I just bought a 9800 GT Geforce nVidia card.I have an Intel G43NB motherboard. I installed the new graphics card into the PCI-e slot, but I can't get the computer to recognize the card. If I plug my monitor into the card's I/O slot, I get the "no signal" message. I tried installing the driver off the website, but it says: "The NVIDIA setup program could not locate any drivers that are compatible with your current hardware. Setup will now exit.". The card also doesn't appear in Device Manager. Any suggestions?
I've activated the PCI-e as the main video controller in the BIOS, everything's still the same.
I have a 500W power supply...
I forgot to mention that the card's fan runs smoothly.
I haven't connected a PCI-e power supply cord to the card.
what power supply do you have? it may not have enough juice to power this new card via the 6-pin PCI-E power connector.
If that card has a 6 pin power header, then you must connect power to it. The new cards draw more juice than can be provided through the PCI-E bus.
